The Castle User Meeting, an event dedicated to Piq2 Castle Software users, was held in Brescia Piq2 Headquarters.

More than 50 participants, both long-time users and new recruits, were able to follow the technical lectures presented and actively take part in discussions with PIQ2 team and other users.

The meeting was also an opportunity to show and explain to users the updates that will be introduced in the upcoming new software v3.0 release.  The introduction of CastleAir (for the calculation and optimization of the vacuum and chill vent channels) as well as the multi-CPU 3D meshing, the CastleRun transient analysis and the CastleBody management new functions (custom injection curves, co-cast inserts and vacuum settings).

Eng. Claudio Gislon of Co.Stamp illustrated the work pattern for the thermal design optimization of a new mould starting from scratch with the aid of CastleThermo. Piq2 staff held two lectures related to the use of the simulation for a correct and reliable prediction of defects and for the optimization of meshing techniques, aimed at reducing simulation setup and calculation times.

The meeting was also an opportunity to share the user experiences and development needs perceived by users to evaluate their future implementation in the software.
